History of Jindo dogs

Jindo dog was selected as a natural monument in 1937 and was designated as Natural Monument No. 53 in 1938. From the Japanese point of view, Jindo dogs were well preserved and politically worth using, and their lineage was excellent, so even when many dogs died, Jindo dogs were protected as natural monuments to preserve their lineage.

It was the Japanese who were crazy about Jindo dogs. Even after liberation, the Jindo dog registration system was maintained, but it was considered a remnant of Japanese imperialism and was not well followed. When Syngman Rhee heard this story in 1952, the government designated it as a natural monument in 1962, and the Korea Jindo Dog Protection and Promotion Act was enacted in 1967, making it famous to this day.

The personality of a Jindo dog

I have a strong hunting instinct. Since loyalty is also high, it is said that they are responsible for protecting their guardians. Also, they do not defecate in the space where they live. I need to take a walk about 3 to 4 times a day because I want to defecate outside my house. I don't like to get something on my body, so I don't like water either.

It is said that it shows the smartness of visiting the house well even if you go far. When a Jindo dog follows one owner, it has loyalty that others do not follow. That's why I can't forget my first owner until I die. As clever and active as it was raised as a hound. Jindo dogs are genetically close to wolves, so they are highly wild and have a sense of rank, which can attack children and the elderly. Especially when raising several Jindo dogs together, they have a habit of becoming more aggressive.
